At A Dentist on Centre we do our best to help patients avoid dental emergencies with personalised preventive dentistry. By staying current with your regular check-ups, cleans and diagnostic x-rays, you can often avoid serious oral health issues that cause pain or tooth loss.

Toothaches are the body's way of telling you that something is wrong.This could be a cracked tooth, a dental cavity, an exposed root or even gum disease. We recommend that you schedule an appointment with us as soon as possible if you are experiencing tooth pain.

Regardless of whether you’re a child or an adult, you can have X-rays safely taken of the inside and outside of your mouth. 

The amount of radiation involved is extremely low, and is equivalent to the sort of exposure you’d receive on a 1-2 hour flight. 

To make the payment process as simple as possible we offer a wide range of payment options. We accept eftpos, credit card, cash and cheques. We do not accept American Express or Diners.

For patients with private health insurance, we can process your claim on the spot through out HICAPS facility so you pay only the out-of-pocket amount.

For extensive treatments we offer Payment Plans through National Dental Plan. 

Children's Dentist

Yes, at A Dentist on Centre, we strive to create a family-friendly place for everyone. Most of our Dentists have children of their own and are particularly skilled in putting kids at ease and helping them develop a healthy attitude about oral care and their smiles.

The earlier the better! We find 2 years of age a great time to start, but you can bring your little one as soon as they have teeth.

The sooner you start regular dental visits with your child, the sooner they will become familiar with the dental environment and our team.

Teeth Whitening

There are many causes for tooth discolouration. These include ageing and the consumption of staining substances such as coffee, tea, soft drinks, tobacco and red wine. During tooth formation, consumption of tetracycline, certain antibiotics or excessive fluoride may also cause tooth discolouration.

For the first 48 hours, it is important NOT to eat foods which can stain your teeth. After this initial period the chance of staining your teeth is not increased following whitening.

Sensitivity during the treatment may occur with some patients. The Pola light generates minimal heat which is the usual source of discomfort. Occasionally, minor tingling sensations are experienced immediately after the procedure, but always resolve, usually within a few hours. We recommend taking Nurofen or Panadol after the whitening procedure.

Light sensitive individuals, including those undergoing PUVA therapy (Psolaren+UV Radiation) or other photochemotherapy, or patients with melanoma, should not undergo the Pola In-Office procedure. Also, patients taking any light sensitive drugs or substances, whether over the counter, prescription or homeopathic, should consult their primary care physician prior to the procedure. Anyone who is not eligible for Polaoffice In-Office Whitening for these reasons may be an excellent candidate for Poladay Take-Home Whitening.

Although the teeth around the fillings will lighten, the fillings themselves and crowns will not whiten to the same extent. Some whitening of tooth-coloured restorations may occur but ceramic fillings and crowns will not change in colour. Any tooth-coloured restorations on your front teeth will need to be replaced after the whitening procedure.

This means that we can now meet ALL your treatment needs, whilst continuing to maintain our increased level of infection control.

--We will continue to carefully screen all our patients when making appointments and on arrival.

--Everyone entering the practice is asked to hand sanitise.

--All staff and patients have their temperature taken when they arrive.

--We have extended our appointment times to allow for complete wipedown/disinfection of all surfaces within the treatment rooms and the reception area, including door handles and EFTPOS machine.
